- In Claude on the web or desktop, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste your Contexel address,
https://contexel.ai/mcp, and save. - Connect and sign in with your browser. There is no key or code to copy.
Optional: make it more reliable. Open Settings and paste this under Instructions for Claude: When I ask you to remember something, also save it to Contexel. Before you answer a question about me, my family, or my work, check Contexel.

Once those steps are done, there's nothing new to learn. Ask your AI to remember something, and ask about it later from any connected app.

Does this replace Claude's own memory?
No. Claude keeps its own features. Contexel adds a memory that other apps and other people can use too, and Claude reads from it when your question needs it.
Does it work in Claude Projects?
Yes. Once the connector is added, it is available in your chats, including chats inside a Project.
Who can see what I save?
You, and the people you share with. In a team or family account, anyone who manages the account can also open your private workspace, and you are told. Contexel holds the encryption key, so it could read it too.
Using other AI apps too?
It's the same memory everywhere. Connect as many apps as you like.
